25' Katama Sloop (1972) - $9000 - A Classic Sailor, Yanmar Diesel
This boat was built in 1972 and had been sailed much of its life on Lake Champlain. It is a sturdy boat built to last, which she has. The cutter rig includes a club footed working jib, and a roller furling Yankee for extra power in light winds. The main sail and the working jib were new approximately five years ago. The boat was Awlgrip-ed 10 years ago along with the cabin top. The decks have been repainted annually. The teak was coated in ever bright.
She is powered by a 9.9 H.P. Yanmar diesel. This boat can be sailed by one person, and the generous cockpit will easily seat six. The below decks configuration will allow for four people, but it does not have standing headroom and as such is best as an overnighter. The boats classic lines attract many positive comments. She sails well in both light an heavy winds as the long keel and pull up centerboard provide just the right amount of stiffness for both conditions. On her mooring, ready to sail away!
