SALE PENDING - 28' Pearson (1975) - $7,500 - New headsail & Zodiac dingy
Clara T is a classic, ready-to-sail Pearson 28 (hull #39) in solid shape with a new headsail and the original Atomic 4 gas inboard – a strong and dependable classic in its own right. An Edson wheel makes steering straightforward and comfortable, with the boat’s compass and a Garmin chartplotter sharing the binnacle.
Clara T also comes with its steel cradle and many other accessories, including a 9’ Zodiac WAVE dinghy (new in 2019, folds to fit in the back of your car), plus a 12v electric motor and battery that’s perfect for gunkholing, fishing and mooring access. Lots of boating gear comes with the package.

The list of other recent updates to this boat is extensive:

The boat is built on a solid fiberglass hull, with a full keel (4,500 pounds of ballast) and a skeg-mounted rudder. The masthead sloop rig provides nearly 500 square feet of sail area with a large (284-square-foot) headsail. Draft is 4.5'. The boat has a generous cockpit for comfortable day-sailing, and plenty of room below for weekending or crusing with 6'2.5" of headroom (the current owner at 6'5" says he is comfortable down below). The boat sleeps five. The master cabin is forward, with a V-berth, bookcase and alcove storage. The enclosed head is adjacent. Moving aft, the main saloon provides bench seating to port and starboard — convertible to berths — a single to port and a double to starboard. There’s a folding table on centerline. More about Cape Dory 25D: The Cape Dory 25D (D for diesel engine), introduced in 1981, is different in many ways from the Cape Dory 25 except it's length-over-all - the 25D is an entirely different boat: wider, heavier, deeper, with inboard diesel engine, a dramatically different interior, and was priced at the time about 50% higher than the 25. According to Practical Sailor's review, many say the 25D has better performance potential than the 25. The 25D’s rig is substantially more modern in design, with a mast 4 1/2' taller than that of the 25, a J measurement over a foot longer, and a higher aspect ratio mainsail. The extra 6" of draft, 9" of beam, hard bilges, and 350 pounds of additional ballast make her quite stiff.
